Telegram Chatbot
A Telegram bot that answers from your workspace documents. Setup is fully self-serve: get a token from BotFather, paste it, done — Ragbee registers the webhook automatically.
What you need
- A Ragbee account with a workspace and documents uploaded
- A Telegram account (to talk to @BotFather)
Setup
- Create the bot. In Telegram, message @BotFather →
/newbot→ follow the prompts (name + username). BotFather hands you a bot token. - Create the integration. Ragbee dashboard → Chatbots → Integrations → New chatbot integration → platform Telegram → paste the Telegram Bot Token → save.
- Webhook registers itself. On save, Ragbee calls Telegram's
setWebhookwith your integration's secure webhook URL. No manual registration, no curl. If you ever change the token or URL, just save the integration again to re-register. - Give it documents. Create a chatbot definition for the integration — the dashboard prefills a Telegram-ready persona (concise, mobile-friendly). Point it at the workspace it should answer from.
- Test. Open your bot in Telegram and ask a question. Replies come with sources, and conversations/events appear in your dashboard.
Notes
- The bot token is stored encrypted.
- Telegram bots can message people only after the person messages first (standard Telegram rule — same shape as Messenger's 24-hour window).
- One bot per integration; want a second bot for a different workspace? Create another integration with another BotFather token.
- Replies follow Ragbee's channel policy: document/knowledge questions get grounded answers; personal account questions get routed to your official channels.
Troubleshooting
- Bot silent: re-save the integration (re-registers the webhook), then check the event log in your dashboard.
- "Unauthorized" from BotFather: make sure you copied the token, not the bot username.
